Who we are
Innovate Academy is operated by Innovate Benacs Ventures, located in Tema, Ghana. We are a practical AI and digital solutions academy training learners across Africa through live, project-based programs.

What personal information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, as well as data generated automatically when you use our site:
- Account and application data: name, email address, phone number, location, education history, work experience, goals, and program preferences when you apply or create an account.
- Payment information: billing details and payment records when you pay program fees. We do not store full card numbers — payments are handled by our payment processors.
- Communications: messages you send through contact forms, email, live chat, or community channels.
- Usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and interactions with the platform, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Student work: projects, assignments, code submissions, and portfolio content you upload during a program.
How we use your information
We use your data to run the academy, communicate with you, and improve our programs:
- Process applications, enrollments, and payments.
- Deliver live sessions, learning materials, and mentor support.
- Issue certificates and verify completion.
- Send service updates, cohort announcements, and marketing communications (you can opt out anytime).
- Respond to questions and support requests.
- Analyze usage and improve our curriculum, platform, and student experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
We process your data based on your consent, our contractual obligations to enrolled students, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the academy, and legal requirements.
International transfers
Your data may be processed by our service providers in regions outside Ghana, including the United States, European Union, and other countries where our cloud infrastructure or subprocessors operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and the data protection practices of our providers, to protect your information when it crosses borders.
Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain academic records, and meet legal or tax obligations. As a general rule:
- Student and application records: retained for up to 7 years to support alumni services, verification requests, and regulatory compliance.
- Marketing and newsletter data: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Contact form submissions: retained for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
After the applicable retention period, your data is deleted or anonymized where possible.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
